Well what exactly does that mean? is this a *blog page or what? well.. I dont exactly like the word blog..something about it ..and writing that this is a page about "Yours truly" seems a tad weird.

So, I suppose, on with the weirdness then...

As you have probably seen via the first page I design and handmake silk floral items, with the addition of those loverly sparkly things called Swarovski Crystals..(Well I must have been a magpie in an earlier life, anything sparkly gets my full attention). So there we have it, not much hmm..

Well lets see, when I say handmade..I really do mean *hand-made*, not this version I see cropping up all over the place of so called handmade..one thing is hand placed on the item for sale and it can be called quite legitimately "handmade" Blah... I have seen plenty of so called handmade hair items and each one is such a perfect replica of its sibling that I wonder how this can possibly be? To hand make an item as a true artisan you just can not replicate in such perfect detail, so next time you see anything that states its handmade just check that it doesnt look like a 100 others!
Lets see...Inspiration?..I tend to get my inspirations from books, films, or past memories. I had made a set of silk flower posies for brides or bridesmaids to carry, these were inspired one sunday afternoon by watching "Jane Austins" Pride and Prejudice, the end scene almost,.. where the weddings take place..they held such pretty rural style posies I felt.

Things I like: Oh dear this could be a long list, well lets see just a few weeny things, most things Medieval, Renaissance ect, Shakespeare, Science fiction, quite a bit of music both modern and ancient. I believe in the Fae, like lots of different films, am an avid Star Trek fan and always attend the Milton Keynes SCI FI Conventions.
At the moment I am getting things together for the Birmingham international wedding show ( phew..thats a bit of a mouthful)..and its also enough to turn me grey! Book the hotel, make sure electricity is sorted, make sure your employees are up to date on health and safety incase anyone comes to check up.. (If we dont know our health and safety procedure will we get shot at dawn?..eek..so...the 'Employees', well, looking around I can`t see anyone else so it must be me.. Hmm, I must make sure that I do not solicit in the aisles..(Laughing hard here when I read this)..ok so I promise I won`t do that!! I believe on a drier note they mean dont give out leaflets ect from your stand.
Make sure I don`t deface the facias, only blu tac and velcro patches will do, nothing lit, nothing that may hiccup and cause worry oh and no music unless pre arranged, and then only for 25 mins in the hour incase people drop dead I assume... Oh dear, I ask myself is it all worth it.. oh and dont forget to make up *press packs*..note to self..remember press packs sounds good but its freebie stuff for those that may or rather will not end up writing about you! 40 packs only and collect any left overs after the show else they will be binned! You know... I think this IS turning into a blog...gasp! I can feel myself getting worried about this International wedding faire, will I be scrutinised by the other attendees who will be 'old hands' and be greeting each other like long lost friends.. The furtive looks of.. ohh whos this then... whats she selling? ohh handmade.."well we all know about hand made..*nudge nudge*...
